A Contemporary Landmark Rooted in Local Memory.
Terra 87 was conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of Bogotá’s architectural memory; a project that transforms the city’s domestic history into a new way of living vertically.
Rather than approaching the building as an isolated object, the project unfolds as a spatial journey through the evolving relationship between architecture, landscape, intimacy, and urban life within Bogotá’s cultural history.
From the introspective courtyard houses of the colonial city to the permeability of modern brick architecture and the openness of contemporary urban living, Terra 87 brings together multiple architectural moments into a single living experience.
Throughout the project, domestic space constantly shifts between enclosure and openness, solidity and transparency, silence and collective life. Gardens, terraces, framed views, and layered transitions reinterpret familiar elements of Bogotá’s residential identity through a contemporary lens.
Brick, light, vegetation, shadow, and urban landscape become part of a continuous architectural language that seeks to reconnect the experience of living with the emotional memory of the city itself.
Rather than replicating history, Terra 87 reimagines it; proposing a new form of urban dwelling rooted in memory, openness, and contemporary life.
A project where Bogotá’s past and future coexist within the same architectural experience.
